Pollimath was founded in December 2008 and our development team resides in Colombo. Our co-founders are Ruwan Rajapakse and Gamindu Hemachandra. Our US development partner is Dr. Michael Inman, who resides in San Francisco, CA.
Ruwan Rajapakse (Chief Executive Officer)
As CEO, Ruwan is the product architect and is responsible for the advancement of Pollimath into commercial success. Ruwan is an accomplished management professional counting 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise software development, serving increasingly challenging leadership roles in multinational technology companies. Ruwan was instrumental in the setup and expansion of two successful offshore software development ventures in the recent past, namely eCollege Sri Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. and Mazarin (Pvt.) Ltd. His core areas of expertise are Project Management Practices (Agile, Scrum, RUP, XP), Product Development for the Internet and Human Resources Development. Gamindu Hemachandra (Chief Technology Officer)
As CTO, Gamindu is the technical architect and the chief visionary / guru in the Pollimath team. Gamindu has 8 years experience as a University Lecturer and has headed the academic program for APIIT Sri Lanka, a leading privately funded seat of tertiary education. He has an honors degree in Physics from the University of Colombo, topping his Graduating Class. A series of quasi-quantum events currently finds him an educator in Computer Science and a passionate hands-on programmer and technology advocate. Gamindu assists his students in discovering their skills in logical thinking and programming, as well as their spirit of innovation. At University he sits beneath a wall-hanging of schrodinger's equation; to remind him of his lifelong passion.
Dr. Michael Inman (Director and Dev Partner USA)
As Director and Dev Partner USA, Michael serves as the Pollimath representative in the United States. Michael is a researcher cum technical consultant with 15 years experience in linguistics, teaching, and the design of speech recognition software for commercial purposes. He is currently a Staff Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco. Michael has a proven track record developing Voice User Interfaces for a variety of applications, including a project to speech-enable the Mercedes-Benz TeleAid telematics service. He has hands-on experience in a broad range of areas related to ASR applications, especially formalizing requirements, designing complex dynamic call flows, VoiceXML coding and prompt production. Michael has a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Stanford University, and has been a Fulbright Senior Scholar and Visiting Assistant Professor for the Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
